Terms of Service
Effective: September 9, 2026
These terms apply to the Tomeum app, its optional cloud service and its optional subscription. By using Tomeum you agree to them. They are intentionally short.
The service
Tomeum is a personal library and reading-memory app. It works fully offline. Optionally, you can create an account (via Apple or Google) to back up your library and sync it across your devices. Some features belong to the optional Museum Keeper subscription described below; recording your library never does.
Your content
Everything you put into Tomeum — books, notes, ratings, quotes, photos — remains yours. By enabling sync you grant us only the limited technical permission needed to store your content and deliver it back to your devices. We claim no other rights to it.
Acceptable use
Use Tomeum only for its intended, lawful purpose. Do not attempt to access other users’ data, disrupt the service, or use the cloud storage for content unrelated to the app.
Your account
An account is optional. You may delete it at any time inside the app (Me → Delete account); this permanently removes your cloud data. Keeping your sign-in credentials secure is your responsibility.
Museum Keeper subscription
The core of Tomeum — adding books, notes, quotes, photos, reading history and export — is free and stays free. The optional Museum Keeper subscription adds cloud backup and sync, the seasonal appearance (including the seasonal app icon), and the museum's statistics halls.
- Plans and prices. Yearly at USD 19.99 with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers, or monthly at USD 2.99. Actual prices are set in your local currency by the App Store or Google Play and are always shown before you subscribe.
- Billing and renewal. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. We never see or store your payment details.
- Free trial. The yearly plan starts with 14 days of full access. If you cancel before the trial ends, nothing is charged; otherwise the yearly price is charged when the trial expires.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel the subscription in your device's subscription settings (the app links there from Me → Museum Keeper). After cancelling, premium features stay available until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your Tomeum account does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies.
- Changes. If a price changes, the store notifies you in advance under its own rules; a change never applies silently to a running period. Premium features may evolve, but what you recorded remains yours and exportable regardless of any subscription.
No warranty
Tomeum is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the cloud service reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The built-in export exists so that your museum is never locked in: you can export everything you recorded at any time. Photos and custom cover images live on your device (and travel with cloud sync); the export file carries your records.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid for Tomeum in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.
Changes and discontinuation
We may update the app and these terms; significant changes will be published at this address with a new effective date. If the cloud service is ever discontinued, we will provide reasonable notice so you can export your data.
